YALI RLC Fellow enlightens teens on quality education, entrepreneurship

A Fellow of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), Regional Leadership Cohort (RLC), Abdulrazaq Kaosarah Adeyi (ABK), has empowered teens in Kwara State on quality education and entrepreneurship at the #OperationBuildTheTeen program which held at dHub, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.

The program themed “Building a total human from the scratch” was aimed at exposing Senior Secondary School students in Kwara State on quality education, SDGs and entrepreneurship.

According to the Fellow, the program idea was birthed as a result of deficiency in students to utilize their skills and ideas in ways that make them relevant, and to equip them with the necessary knowledge that enables them succeed in changing face of the 21st century. “Our aimed is to inspire these young ones who are the leaders of now and the future,” she said.

The event which had representatives from 10 schools had students winning 14 students: two JUPEB scholarship worth (#210,000), eight for entrepreneurship training and four got mentorship.

The awardees were; Bello Isaac:GDSS Tanke, Tijani Jamiu Abiodun; Minaret college, Muhammed Muminat: Alfurqan college, Muhammed Aisha;Alfurqan college, Abdulrasaq Semiat: Kulende Sec. School, Shittu Lukman; Sheik Abdulsalam, Abdulkadir Imam Ibrahim: Sheik Abdulsalam, Suleiman Salim;Sheik Abdulsalam, Abdulkadur Fatima:Sheik Abdulsalam, Ibrahim Farida:Sheik Abdulsalam, Ahmed Hawau:GDSS Tanke.

Facilitators present at the event were; Aderoju Shamsudeen, Sanni Alausa-Issa, Alabi Omolara, Adeoye Sherrif and Tomori Uriel.
